Staff Position

We are a small CPA firm that needs a staff accountant that enjoys developing working solutions for the complicated needs of our clients. The position will include preparation of complex business and personal tax returns, providing consulting services regarding a wide variety of tax and accounting issues, and traditional compilation, review or audit work on occasion.  You should be a self-starter and be able to work independently as there will be multiple projects that will require great attention to details, ingenuity to develop work methods, and the ability to meet deadlines. 

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; an advanced degree is a plus
• CPA or candidate
• 2+ years of general tax experience, utilization of professional tax software (Ultra Tax)
• Experience with and understanding of professional standards of attest work
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Experience with QuickBooks and other small business accounting software
• Experience as controller or bookkeeper for small business is a huge plus
• Tax preparation and consulting experience working with C Corps, S Corps,  Partnerships, LLC’s, individuals, and Nonprofits
• Excellent research, project management, and oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients as  well as the ability to translate complex financial information into easily understood language for both sophisticated and novice audiences
